The Story Behind the Doll

Years ago, as I was preparing for my first VBAC birth, our wonderful doctor brought us a handmade mother-and-baby doll during one of her visits.
It was both an educational model and a toy. Our then three-year-old daughter instantly fell in love with it — she spent hours playing, learning in the most natural way about the miracle of birth.
Thanks to that gentle preparation, when her little sister arrived a few weeks later, everything felt peaceful and familiar.

Through imaginative play, children can:

  • Explore what it means to become an older sibling
  • Learn about pregnancy, birth, and baby care in a safe, simple way
  • Express their feelings and curiosity about the changes in their family

This Mother and Baby Doll Set is also a wonderful educational tool for midwives, childbirth educators, doulas, and lactation consultants.
It can be used to demonstrate natural birth, newborn care, and breastfeeding techniques in an engaging, hands-on way.

This Mother and Baby Doll Set Includes:

Handmade with Love

Each doll is individually handcrafted with great care and attention to detail.
Made from soft, stretchy cotton fabric that feels pleasant to the touch, filled with lightweight acrylic fiberfill that keeps its shape and dries easily.
The facial features are hand-painted, and the hair is made from soft acrylic yarn.
The mother’s belly is decorated with a hand-painted mandala — a blessing for positive energy and a beautiful journey into motherhood.

For more imaginative play, the Mama and Newborn Doll Set can be paired with other dolls from the collection — dad/partner, siblings, or a doula/midwife (sold separately).

Care Instructions

Gently hand-wash in lukewarm water, using mild soap. No bleach. Allow to air dry naturally. No wringing or tumble-drying.

This item not suitable for children under 3 years old without adult supervision, as it contains small parts.
